Product Summary

WARNING & DIRECTIONAL TGSIs

What are ESP CIP TGSIs?

The ESP Warning and Directional Integrated Cast in Place (CIP) TGSI Access Tile is applied during the curing of wet concrete. When the concrete becomes cured, the ESP CIP TGSI Access Tile, is subsequently mechanically fixed to the finished substrate. Corrosion resistant, nylon composite hexagonal anchors and countersunk tamper proof 304 stainless steel fasteners, provide an additional mechanical connection between the ESP CIP TGSI Access Tile and the substrate.

Why do ESP Cast In Place TGSIs perform so well?

Each ESP TGSI Access Tile is manufactured through the method of high-pressure compression process of a Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC). Produced with our unique Herculite material, we construct every ESP Access Tile from the highest quality polymer components and, with additional UV stabilisers for the harsh Australian Sun, the ESP Access Tiles will maintain their individual Luminance Contrast Values over the long term.

How TOUGH are ESP Cast In Place TGSIs?

So what happens when large, heavy trucks cut corners and repeatedly drive over the nature strip? What about when they drive over the pedestrian kerb ramps with TGSIs installed on them? Which comes off better? The ESP TGSIs or the concrete kerb ramp?

As you can see from the images below, where trucks have driven over the pedestrian crossing, the concrete around the ESP CIP TGSI Access Tiles has cracked. The ESP CIP TGSI Access Tiles have not. They are as good as the day that they were installed and remain fit-for-purpose.

With 24 international engineering tests and over 20 years of application experience throughout the world, ESP CIP TGSI Access Tiles are the most robust, durable and functional TGSIs for pedestrian streetscapes.

Image: Can you see where trucks have driven over the pedestrian crossing? Look closely. Theres no damage to the ESP CIP TGSI Access Tiles.

Image: There is no damage to the ESP Cast in Place TGSI Access Tiles. It is still fit for purpose. Howere, the concrete around the TGSI installation has cracked and is beyond repair. The entire Kerb Ramp needs to be completely replace recertified by the local council inspector.

Application - Fit-for-purpose

Prior to any application of the ESP Warning and Directional TGSIs, all sites should be inspected.

This will ensure that the products will be fit for the intended purpose and the proposed finished surface. The will also provide the opportunity for the applicator to confirm the integrity of the finished surface that the ESP Warning and Directional TGSIs will be installed onto.

Positioning of Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSIs)

ESP Australia recommends that the proposed design layout for the ESP Warning and Directional TGSI installation, should also be assessed, prior to installation, to ascertain if the application will achieve compliance with the applicable codes and standards.

ESP Australia recommends that any assessment should only be done by a qualified and knowledgeable person who is experienced and fluent in the use of TGSIs within Australia and New Zealand.

Site Compliance with Luminance Contrast

Every finished surface and/or substrate is different and so presents its own nuances of luminance. ESP Australia strongly recommends that luminance contrast testing of the substrate, (finished surface - that being the finished surrounding surface in line with the accessible path of travel), be tested for its luminous value so as to determine that the chosen ESP TGSI has sufficient luminance contrast as required by AS/NZS 1428.4.1. Amendment 1 - 2010-11-26 Appendix E and specifically Table E1 should be used.

This will determine if the colour of the selected ESP Warning and/or Directional TGSI will be compliant with the applicable legislation, standards and codes.

Warning and Directional (CIP) TGSIs

ESP Product Maintenance and Replacement

Cast In Place during the curing of wet concrete, ESP CIP TGSIs are also replaceable.

With continual rise of meeting compliance with the built environment we’ve thought long and hard about how we can save you money over the long term.

The ESP Cast In Place TGSI Access Tile can be maintained in a very fast and cost-effective manner and at no additional expense; it’s simply built into very ESP CIP TGSI product.

Replacement

Each ESP Warning and Directional CIP TGSI is designed with the optimal use of material and is conveniently replaceable with the specific ESP application tools. If replacement is required, for whatever reason, it is recommended that an assessment is conducted by one of ESP Australia's product engineers.

The typical re-installation sequence for ESP Cast in Place involves a step process as described below:

Step 1 - Remove Existing TGSIs

Step 2 - Replace ESP CIP TGSI Tile

Step 3 - Affix with tamper proof fixings

Please Call: 1300 665 761 if you require any assistance with service or replacement of ESP TGSIs.
