ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SN&CS)

Product Range Overview

How are ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosings and Contrast Strips (SN&CS) Installed?

Each ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip (SN&CS) are chemically and mechanically applied to the finished surface. Nylon composite, corrosion resistant anchors and 304 stainless steel fasteners, provide mechanical connection to the finished substrate or existing finished surface, that possesses suitable structural integrity.

Why do ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosings & Contrast Strips Perform so well?

Each ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip is manufactured through the method of Aluminium Extrusion & Natural Clear Andosing. To provide the necessary durability. The ESP Slip-resistant inlay surface, a patented Ecoglo manufacturing process, involves High Temperature Curing (HTC) technology to integrally bond the active ingredients into an aluminium substrate. The products have passed internationally accredited tests for slip resistance, durability, UV resistance, weather resistance, flammability and toxicity.

How Versatile are ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosings & Contrast Strips?

Some of the ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip products contain photoluminescent pigment phosphors that absorb light energy and re-emit this as a bright glow when the lights dim or go out.

Activated by either natural or artificial light, the ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip products will glow for many hours following activation.

INDOORS - The duration of visibility will depend upon the charging source and the length of time of exposure to this light source.

OUTDOORS - The natural light will fully charge ESP Ecoglo photoluminescent material, even on the most overcast day.

When fully charged outdoors, ESP Ecoglo products have luminance that will last all through the night.

How Slip Resistant are ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosings & Contrast Strips?

ESP Ecoglo anti-slip components are produced using hard wearing silicon carbide and the same High Temperature Curing (HTC) technology used for the photoluminescent components. They can be used indoors or outdoors as they are UV and weather resistant.

ESP Ecoglo Stair Nosing & Contrast Strips have passed the following tests: UL410 Standard for Slip Resistance for Floor Surface Materials; AS/NZS 4586-2004 Classification: Dry: F Wet: V Ramp: R12; AS 4586-2013 Classification: P5 which is the highest classification achievable.

Each ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS) is applied to the completed, finished substrate or existing finished surface, that possesses suitable structural integrity.  Nylon composite, corrosion resistant anchors and 304 stainless steel fasteners, provide mechanical connection to the substrate

No Lifting Edges

The Surface Applied Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS), with the addition of high quality adhesive polymer to the bottom of the base surface, eradicates the likelihood of the (SNCS) perimeter lifting.

Mandatory Compliance with Applicable Legislation, Standards and Codes

Intended Use of ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS)

Application - Fit-for-purpose

Prior to any application of the ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS) all sites should be inspected.

This will ensure that the products will be fit for the intended purpose and the proposed finished surface. The will also provide the opportunity for the applicator to confirm the integrity of the finished surface that the ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip (SNCS) products will be installed onto.

Positioning of ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip (SNCS)

ESP Australia recommends that the proposed design application for the ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS) installation, should also be assessed, prior to installation, to ascertain if the application will achieve compliance with the applicable codes and standards.

ESP Australia recommends that any assessment should only be done by a qualified and knowledgeable person who is experienced and fluent in the use of ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS) within Australia and New Zealand.

Site Compliance with Luminance Contrast

Every finished surface and/or substrate is different and so presents its own nuances of luminance. ESP Australia strongly recommends that luminance contrast testing of the substrate, (finished surface - that being the finished surrounding surface in line with the accessible path of travel), be tested for its luminous value so as to determine that the chosen ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strip (SNCS) product has sufficient luminance contrast.

This will determine if the colour of the selected ESP Stair Nosing and Contrast Strips (SNCS) will be compliant with the applicable legislation, standards and codes.
